We are standing for welcome!
This service will feature, special music, performances and stories from immigrants in our congregation.
In this age of our government tearing apart refugee families, the First Presbyterian Church is proud of our efforts to re-unite families. In conjunction with PRIME immigration services and money raised by our Mission Committee, we were able to assist one of our immigrant families with legal services and travel expenses to bring their son over from Liberia.

Reception following the film
Because of the War, a new film produced by the Philadelphia Folklore
Project, shares the stories of four brilliant singers – mothers, refugees, immigrants,
survivors of Liberia’s civil wars – who use their music to address violence and injustice
at home and in exile. Superstar recording artists Zaye Tete, Fatu Gayflor, Marie
Nyenabo and Tokay Tomah are featured in the movie.
In Philadelphia, four Liberian women use their music to address injustice and inspire
action for social change. Survivors of Liberia’s civil wars, they are accomplished,
brilliant singers – mothers, refugees, immigrants, Africans – who haven’t stopped
contributing positively to the world, no matter the obstacles. Because of the

This is an annual tradition for all our children. All families are invited to join the lunch with Santa by making a reservation with Carmella Kane or a member of the Mission Committee. Please indicate to Carmella the name, age, sex of your child that will be in attendance and a suggestion for a small toy that Santa can present during the luncheon. It is very important that Carmella has your reservation!!! We don't want to have a child in attendance and not have a present from Santa for them, so please please please register.
If you do not have children in your family unit, join us anyway for the fun. We simply ask that you allow families to have first choice in seating so they can sit together as a unit at the luncheon. Thanks for your cooperation.
