Lansdowne Community Garden
A Space for the Whole Community.
Community gardens are places of delight. They provide gathering places, inviting strangers to delight together over a funny-shaped tomato or a gigantic yellow pumpkin. They are places to learn and develop a relationship with nature, even in urban environments.
And of course, gardening provides food – fresh, local produce, grown with care and harvested with joy.

Get Involved
The garden has opportunities for people with all types of skills, abilities, and levels of commitment. If you’re interested in leasing a raised bed, helping with our community food cupboard beds, garden leadership, contributing plants to our pollinator garden, or just really like to weed, we would love to get to know you!

The Garden Story
In the spring of 2022, a question was asked: what if the church’s beautiful front yard was used for more than just growing grass? From there, an idea was planted that took root at the church: create a community garden on the church grounds, not for the church, but for the whole community. From there, the Lansdowne Community Garden (LGC) started to grow. Garden leadership began planning for our first growing season in 2023, bringing our community together to grow healthy food and a healthier community.

The Garden
The current garden plan has 10 raised beds, as well as a large pollinator garden to help increase native plants for pollinators in our area.
