Building Steward

We’re searching for a Building Steward!

The First Presbyterian Church of Lansdowne is seeking a part-time, 10 hours/week Building Steward to provide for the general upkeep of the First Presbyterian Church of Lansdowne’s facilities.

The Building Steward is supervised by and is accountable to the Pastor.

Responsibilities

  • Work with FPCL’s Good Stewards Building Triage Team to continue to preserve our buildings.

  • Work through prioritized Property Maintenance Requests list

  • Submit maintenance requests for all areas of concern to Good Stewards’ Building Triage team

  • Provide receipts of materials for approved expenses, per finance procedures.

  • Check church buildings for areas of concern weekly, using checklist, and report to the pastor and the Good Stewards Triage team.

  • Document all work items completed with date and costs.


Qualifications

  1. Must be able to work independently and, on occasion, lead a small team.

  2. Ability to coordinate with outside vendors when repairs go beyond skills or time limitations.

  3. Have knowledge and range of skills necessary to perform typical building maintenance.

  4. When appropriate, use techniques as described in the National Park Services’ Standards For Preservation & Guidelines For Preserving Historic Buildings.

  5. Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; work from a tall ladder, kneel, squat, climb, and stand to perform duties.
